Ethnic and cultural diversity increasingly characterises the German education system and is discussed as both an enrichment and a challenge. While the focus of research is on different educational opportunities and achievements, the lecture addresses the question of social cohesion and developing identities in the school context. Clemens Kroneberg presents the most important findings of two studies conducted in NRW in a generally understandable way. In the process, a picture emerges that in part clearly deviates from the media and political thematisation of ethnic-cultural diversity in the school context. The Diversity Week is organised by the Prorectorate for Academic Careers and Equal Opportunities and the Gender & Diversity Management Department.
