Axel Ockenfels, Matthias Sutter and Achim Wambach are among the most influential economists in Germany. This is evident from the recently published “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) Economics Ranking 2015”. The ranking is conducted every year on behalf of different educational institutions and indicates who has had the greatest influence in the fields of media, politics and scientific research over the last year. To rank high, a researcher in the field of economics has to be present in the media, has to be a valued advisor to politicians and has to contribute new influential impulses to science.
