As one of the UoC&#8217;s Research Centers, C-SEB aims to increase the international visibility of the UoC and networking opportunities for C-SEB researchers.<\/p>\r\n<p>To promote scientific exchange and to initiate or expand international research collaborations, C-SEB invites <strong>C-SEB (associated) members<\/strong> to apply for the <strong>C-SEB Visitor Program<\/strong>. This includes tenured and non-tenured professors, postdoctoral and doctoral researchers (a) who either are employed by the UoC or (b) who receive a stipend (from the UoC or other organizations) <u>and<\/u> whose main affiliation is with the UoC. Each person may submit only one visitor program application per round.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"slidedown-wrapper\"><div class=\"slidedown-content\" style=\"display:none;\">\r\n<p><strong>In order to complete your online application, you will be asked to agree to the following terms:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul><li>The information provided in this application is accurate to the best of my knowledge. <span style=\"color:tomato\">I agree to notify C-SEB immediately of any changes or additions.<\/span> I understand that incomplete or incorrectly completed applications (e.g., improper formatting, illegible text) or applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered for the respective funding period.<\/li><\/ul>\r\n<ul><li>I have read and understood the <a href=\"https:\/\/c-seb.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/2020_06_ERSP_Verwendungsrichtlinien_dt_eng.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">UoC Guidelines for the Use of Funds ERSP<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/uni.koeln\/2BM6P\" target=\"_blank\">UoC Guidelines for Good Scientific Practice<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/c-seb.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025-06-25_UoC-Publication-Guidelines.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">UoC Publication Guidelines<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/uni.koeln\/THA5Y\" target=\"_blank\">UoC Hospitality Guidelines<\/a>* and will abide by these rules. I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that collaborating researchers also adhere to these guidelines.<\/li><\/ul>\r\n<ul><li><i>If you apply for research funding from C-SEB:<\/i> <span style=\"color:tomato\">I agree to pre-register my research plans (including pre-testing of research materials, etc.) and to obtain approval from my Faculty&#8217;s ethics committee<\/span> (if you wish to use another established ethics committee in your field, please contact the C-SEB Central Office first) before collecting data and before receiving research funds from C-SEB. I am aware that applications for an exemption are generally not approved.<\/li><\/ul>\r\n<ul><li>I understand that disbursed funds may only be used for the purpose for which they were granted and may only be accessed for expenses invoiced within the funding period; advances not invoiced within the funding period must be returned to C-SEB. I agree to submit all receipts no later than one month after the end of the funding period. <span style=\"color:tomato\">I understand that funding can only be accessed as long as my contract\/stipend specified in this application has not expired.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\r\n<ul><li>If I receive funding from C-SEB, <span style=\"color:tomato\">I agree to submit a final report of 2-3 pages no later than three months after the end of the funding period, should C-SEB request it.<\/span> In the final report, I will provide information on the scientific contribution and advancement of international visibility and connectivity through the research stay and on how the funds were spent using the categories of the financial plan outlined in my application.<\/li><\/ul>\r\n<p>I am aware that non-compliance with any of these rules may result in the reclaiming of funds, irrespective of other potential implications.<\/p>\r\n<p><small><i>* Accessible only within the network of the University of Cologne.<\/i><\/small><\/p>\r\n<\/div><div class=\"slidedown-toggle\">Learn more <i class=\"fa fa-angle-double-down\"><\/i><\/div><\/div>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"selection\">Selection procedure<\/h2>\r\n<p>Decisive criteria for the granting of funds are the expected outcomes of the research stay with regard to (1) its scientific contribution to C-SEB\u2019s overall topics, (2) the professional advancement of the researcher, as well as (3) the promotion of international collaborations and of the international visibility of C-SEB and the UoC. The C-SEB Executive Board selects among the duly received proposals.<br \/>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"application\">Application procedure<\/h2>\r\n<p>The application deadline is <strong>October 31<sup>st<\/sup>, 2026<\/strong>. Applications are submitted via a LimeSurvey questionnaire; the link to the questionnaire is emailed to eligible researchers. Please <strong>prepare the required documents and information listed below<\/strong>. Once you have started the application questionnaire, you can <strong>create a login<\/strong> to resume the questionnaire again later (&#8220;Resume later&#8221; in the upper right corner of the survey).<br \/>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"documents\">Required documents<\/h2>\r\n<p>Please prepare the following documents for upload in <strong>PDF<\/strong> format:<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Statement of purpose<\/strong> &mdash; Statements of purpose are limited to 2 pages using the mandatory .docx template (<a href=\"https:\/\/c-seb.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/Rd23-2026_Mobility-Grants_Template_1-Statement-of-Purpose.docx\" target=\"_blank\">download<\/a> &#11123;), converted into a single PDF file for upload. Statements of purpose must be written in a way that is easily understood by scientists in both the economics and psychology disciplines. The document must include information on how the research stay is beneficial with regard to (1) its scientific contribution to C-SEB&#8217;s overall topics, (2) the professional advancement of the applying researcher, (3) the promotion of international collaborations and of the international visibility of C-SEB and the UoC, and (4) the financial planning.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Confirmation letter<\/strong> &mdash; The confirmation letter by the host is limited to 1 page, converted into a PDF file for upload. The confirmation letter should express the host&#8217;s willingness to host the applicant in the desired time period.<\/p> \r\n<p><strong>CV(s)<\/strong> &mdash; Short CVs of the applicant and the host of the research stay (&leq; 2 pages each, 1 PDF file per CV).<\/p>\r\n<p><i>For doctoral researchers\/PhD students:<\/i> <strong>Recommendation letter from the supervisor<\/strong> &mdash; Recommendation letters are limited to 1 page using the mandatory .docx template (<a href=\"https:\/\/c-seb.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/Rd23-2026_Mobility-Grants_Template_2-Letter-of-Reference-by-Supervisor-1.docx\" target=\"_blank\">download<\/a> &#11123;), converted into a PDF file for upload.<br \/>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"information\">Required information<\/h2>\r\n<p>Please prepare the following information for entry into the questionnaire in <strong>plain text<\/strong> format:<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Summary statement of purpose<\/strong> &mdash; A summary of the statement of purpose of 850 characters or less.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Statement on contributions<\/strong> &mdash; A description of the research stay&#8217;s scientific contribution and advancement of international visibility and connectivity in 850 characters or less: How will the applicant, C-SEB, and the UoC benefit from the research stay?<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Explanation of the financial plan<\/strong> &mdash; Prepare an explanation of the requested funds (which is also a part of the statement of purpose) of 850 characters or less that briefly describes your calculations for each expense category. Please note that daily allowances are excluded from reimbursement. If the requested C-SEB funding (max. 3,000 \u20ac) covers only a portion of the total funds needed, please state the total amount needed and explain where the missing amount will come from.<br \/>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"ready\">Have ready<\/h2>\r\n<p>Please have the following information ready for entry into the questionnaire:<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Information about the host<\/strong> &mdash; You will be asked to provide the host&#8217;s name, level of academic seniority, affiliation (institution, faculty, institute\/dpt\/chair), address, e-mail, and website.\r\n<p><strong>Expected arrival date at the host institution<\/strong> (start of the research stay, dd\/mm\/yyyy) &mdash; Please note that we expect to announce the funding decisions no later than the end of December 2026. Funding can only be used for expenses incurred after the date of the decision letter.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Expected departure date from the host institution<\/strong> (end of the research stay, dd\/mm\/yyyy) &mdash; Please note that funding is typically awarded for one year, i.e., until December 31<sup>st<\/sup>, 2027.<\/p>\r\n<p><i>If applicable:<\/i> <strong>End date of your current contract\/stipend<\/strong> (dd\/mm\/yyyy) &mdash; If your affiliation with the UoC is not permanent, you will be asked to enter the current end date of your contract\/stipend.
